TASTY FIXINS: The Long Island Toy Train Locomotive Engineers (LITTLE) is serving up another custom-run Lionel freight car decorated for Entenmann’s bakery. The O gauge car features Entenmann’s graphics and comes in a blue and white trimmed box. The car will be limited to the number ordered, and orders must be placed by January 10, 2014. Cars cost $72 each, shipping included. New York State residents add $6.21 tax per car ordered. Canadian and foreign orders add $10 extra for shipping. CLASSIC FREIGHT HAULER: The Lionel Corp. Tinplate line by MTH Electric Trains has released a prewar favorite: the no. 269E Distance Control Freight Set. The O gauge outfit, no. 11-5507, features a no. 261E locomotive and tender as well a no. 254 Sunoco tank car, a no. 259 Lionel Lines hopper, and a no. 257 Lionel Lines caboose. The train is the traditional version with conventional control and without sound systems. The set also includes a loop of MTH RealTrax and a 50-watt power supply for $499.95. A CAR LOAD OF SECURITY: Another limited-run holiday car from Menards is an O gauge flatcar with an illuminated security truck load. The lights on the pickup truck illuminate with transformer power supplied through the track. The car runs on O-27 track and is available with a variety of loads. HOLIDAY PUZZLE FOR TRAINIACS: Ceaco’s mightiest Christmas puzzle features a 750-piece rendition of a scheme from Richard Coyne’s O gauge layout, which will be featured in the January 2014 issue of Classic Toy Trains. The puzzle will be available in Barnes & Noble stores, Walmart, and other retail locations, starting in October 2013.
