In the September 2012 issue, Kent Johnson demonstrated how he accomplished the realistic backdrop for his O gauge railroad. Subscribers can watch this rainy day run-by on a moody wet morning on his layout.

Watch this rainy day run-by on Kent Johnson's O gauge layout.
great video of your awsome layout, but was sad to note that you are no longer on the staff at CTT magazine. where can i hope to see your great articles now?
Pretty Darn Cool.
It is fun to watch this layout. Great Scenery.
Tell us about the clouds, they are really amazing.
Just LOVE it more each time I watch it! Wish the video was longer!
Cant wait to see what Kent does for the same scene in winter!
Terrific in so many ways.

Great video and special effects.
This is so awesome!! You should work for a Train Magazine!! lol
Were those clouds REALLY MOVING!? That is so COOL!!!! Awesome
No sunlight and no wind so no "green energy" BUT a great video of a scale model railroad.
Looks like a movie set. Outstanding visual effects. Congrats. Wolfsong
Excellent!!! I can't wait to try this. The projected moving clouds are great. You have to look a couple of times to see the clouds are moving over the building also. Your eye is drawn to the sky. Record a rainy day on your camera, put it on a disk over and over , then try to figure out how to project it on your layout without taking out a second mortgage . It just goes to show, when you think you have seen everything, you have not. Great Work.
Great special effects. Would have looked better with the Wind Turbine operating
Very well done — music is appropriate, the moving clouds around the mountains are a great effect — where's my umbrella! Super job.
how did he do this? A1
Very creative and enjoyable to watch. Hi rail at it's best.
As the others have already said; Incredible Lighting, Incredible Music (wish I knew who it was) and a Fantastic Job on the Photography. Just plain Excellent.
GREAT!!! We Canucks love your choice of road.
Pretty foggy, but I get the idea of rain.
That was it, 45 seconds, what you showed was very nice !! But it would have nice if it was a little longer and brighter. I guess it was suppost to be a rainy dreary day.
Thanks, love these little videos
a beauty
WOW! Very Nice!!!
very nice, a rambling ride down the pike with nice background music
Kent……..you should be a movie director! Your mastery and blending of music, videography, lighting, special effects and set decoration are really top notch. Nice consist also! You are all doing a great job at Classic Toy Trains.
