The mid-1990s were a great time in toy trains full of changes in both the trains themselves as well as in command control. For Ray Mansfield, it was the time to launch work on the layout he had been waiting all his life to build.
Watch the streaming video below demonstrating some of the exciting switching action on his railroad.
Great layout, a lot of action
Nice layout..
nice layout
What a great video of a great layout! I wish all of the on-line videos had this level of action and detail. Thanks!!
excellent work, and quite a detailed job.
Terrific video, but NO sound. Howcome?
great layout
Ray, After reading the November artical and also seeing the vido, this has point me toward soom other ideas. Thanks, great layout and looking forward to seeing more.
good job. -david
Ray has a great layout. I like the action so much i watched the video several times.
Great Layout. I'm just in the process of planning a new layout in a similar size room and would like to use many ideas from your plan. Can the plan be downloaded to provide more detail ? I would like to know the % grade you used, the maximum height you used to provide clearance for the train passing underneath and where you located the control panel and power sources. Thanks for inspiring me.
Ray has the perfect layout. So perfect that with some adjustments I can build a similar one in my basement. I use Lionel fastrack with a maximum 72 " radius and mimimum 48" radius. Thanks, I've been searching for a layout that would fit in the space I have.
