Theme: American Flyer Hudson Converted to DCC
Description: This is a American Flyer Hudson converted to DCC using a Soundtraxx Tsunmai 1000 Decoder. At first I go through all the functions that the engine will do, bell, horn, light, dim, air sound, no sound, water tank arm filling up the tender, light off, then on, as the sound builds. Then the engine is off, different speeds. I am tethered to the Lenz Controller, so I can not move around the layout to get different angles. Then the engine stops at the end at the station. I forgot that the engine when stopped will make steam noise, so I did not get that. The AF Chug Chug noise can be heard, as the smoke unit is still in the engine. Smoke unit does not work with the DCC connection, as the smoke unit draws too much power.

  1. you should run 2 wires from the smoke unit to the tender trucks themselves that way you don’t involved the decoder and the unit has track power to make smoke..

  2. Great looking railroad = a great job on the engine conversion. One question; what brand of track/track system do you have on the layout? It looks very good!
