The coordination is on the ball. It gives a realistic sound and gets you in the mood. Thank you.

  2. The sounds were from professionally made recordings and dubbed over the sounds picked up by the video camera.

  3. @DOUG HARRIS,
Sound effects in this one were dubbed in over the video. You can tell in some shots (like at 1:22) where the train speeds up but the sounds do not. The audio likely came from a variety of amateur (and not-so amateur) video shot during fantrips, excursions, or any other sort of special move.

I made a suggestion to an HO scaler on YouTube who was using the same tactic with intermodal trains on a club modular layout. Since he had enough rolling stock to make prototypical-length trains, I suggested he build a train with the exact same consist of cars as the one in the video he sourced his audio from, That way he could get the rail-joint noises to match the cars passing by in the model shot.

  4. Fantastic sound! I had to restrain my self from jumping out of the way when I first saw/heard the loco heading at me! Great whistle.

  5. Hi all. I'd be interested to know how these sounds are generated – are they electronic, or from some other source?
Also I'm looking for sound files of the side-rod clank. Anyone help?? Many Thanks.
