  1. Gordon, this is a fantastic layout – you have done a wonderful job! Enjoy seeing updates on it. In the Jan 2016 CTT magazine, there is photo of a B&O passenger train with Santa Claus. In the foreground, is a 1940's taxi cab. Do you recall what the manufacturer brand of that vehicle is or where you got it? Would like to add this vehicle to my collection. Thanks for your help! 2. Great to enjoy he layout and see the details along the line and of course to watch the trains run after reading about the layout in the magazine articles. Excellent job.

  3. Wonderful detailed layout, well told and shot. Esp. liked the front and side moving video. Great work and I'm envious!

  4. What a great looking layout. Very atmospheric of a bygone day. You did some excellent work with the structures and the scenery. Thanks for sharing.

  5. The layout design and level of detail are just phenomenal! The tour around the entire layout by both video and rail was awesome. You have a beautiful hi-rail layout and train collection.

  6. very well done, excellent detailing, and having a definitive theme, rather than a generic setting, makes this highly detailed and customized layout a real charmer and an inspiration.

  7. Thank you for a very well done video of a very well done layout. The intro was great. I like the "construction" sign on the entrance door.Very enjoyable.

  8. This is inspiring!! Classic Plasticville structures "planted" in realistic rolling landscapes. Great use of color. Not your ordinary flat tabletop. I'm so glad I watched this. Many great ideas. Thanks for showing us such a wonderful layout.

  9. Nice layout with great structures and wharf scenes.
Lots of details and a super video to showcase your work. Excellent !!

  10. Fabulous eye for detail, exquisite modeling, & the sound effects add hugely to the presence. Beautiful job all around, and nice video work as well. Some might find the camera moves too slow, but I think they are just right, allowing the viewer a chance to actually SEE things. Like the camera is making love to the scene (& some think that should be quick, too). Nicely narrated as well. Fine job – A+. Thanks for sharing!

  11. One of my favorite layouts. Lots of detail crammed in but well spaced and thought out so it doesn't seemed crowded. Everything seems to have a reason for being there. It took a while to get to running the trains but it was worth it.

  12. Fantastic! I loved the video with the camera mounted in front of the engine. The moving footage with the camera pointing sideways was a bit difficult to view. The camera often times distorts the scene when recording close to 90 degrees and close up. After reading the reviews, I need to go back and watch the video again, I missed a couple of things. Again, just great.

  13. Great video!
Your layout is very dense with detail; it gives a real feeling of a congested downtown and waterfront industrial area.
I like the faded background scenes which add to the depth of your layout.
The on-track camera shots are neat, especially the ones that face in towards the center of the layout.
    Well done!

  14. Nice layout and very detailed work. My hats off to you. My layouts are very simple and not very elaborate.

  15. Thank you for sharing your work. It was great to see the mix of marine, rail and industry. You obviously think detailed scenes add interest. I was a repeat viewer. I was impressed with your layout when it was in the magazine, but am more so now. Again, thank you.

  16. Both the layout and the Video were very well done. Reminds me of growing up in Jersey City. I always enjoy layouts which have a good mix of city scape,
marine and industrial venues. Your layout details were very well done, from
truck loads to the car crash in the river and lights in all the buildings. Thank
you for sharing. I still reside in NJ and am in Jersey City every few weeks. It
is very different from your depiction now.

  17. One of the best detailed layout I've ever seen, if not the best. I normally do not comment any these videos, but this one I had to. I'm doing a 50's layout and I have a lot of catching up to do. Thanks.

  18. Excellent video, and one of the best I have seen online. The city details are outstanding, and I really enjoyed the cab view as we travelled around your layout.
    Thanks for an amazing ride!

  19. May I said this video keep on the edge of my chair the whole time. I am work on a water front thanks for great many ideas.

  20. Made me want to go back in time to 1948, when I was 12 years old. Great job, thanks for the memories!
