Theme: Two custom locomotives
Description: I have made some custom Marx locomotives and cars for my Minneapolis Northern Railroad, most are repaints of standard Marx locomotives, but these two are modified. The Commodore Vollrath, as I call it, is a modified Marx Commodore Vanderbilt that has a Marx double reduction motor with a smoke unit from a Marx 666 also a modified pilot truck from a 666. The MM1, the centercab diesel was made from two Marx CV shells cut apart and welded together. The only things that are not Marx parts are the headlight lenses, and the frame. The frame I made at work out of stainless steel.
Slower speed would allow for us to enjoy the trains and appreciate your work.
Paul. Marx trains have difficulty running real slow, I could run them a little slower, but they would stall on the back side of the layout they slow down back there and can stall. Not all of the track is nailed down which will help to make a better connection back there, but I cannot do it until the back scenery is finished. If the old Marx motors stall they can build heat and burn out.
Thank you for showing a layout running MARX trains. I enjoyed the presentation very much. However, I would have enjoyed it much better if rou ran the trains a lot slower. Thank you for the video
