I built this per the plan only adding an interchange track on the other side of the upper main line. The layout operates really well using JMRI Ops to generate manifests. I have a “float Job” and an “interchange job” each providing about 45 minutes of switching fun. I have about 50 cars off layout that I cycle onto the layout at the interchange and the float. This is a really great layout for operations.

I am building a version of this now. Finished framing and after painting, ready to lay track.
Kinda what I am looking to build maybe steele mill with coal and iron ore. The design is very good with the raised back lower in front

Exactly what I was looking for – a small shelf layout in very limited space! I bought the back issue hoping for landscaped photos, but to no avail. If there are any, I would appreciate them! Found one out on the Web, but would like more!
