  1. While open-grid construction is a bit dated, it clearly works for a small layout that is bounded by walls and subject to lots of wear from viewers. It gave me some thoughts for my own spare-room layout.

  2. This looks like an ideal layout for a bedroom. Will the September issure show how to do the swingout gate? I love the sample layouts, I just wish that they gave more details.

  3. Very nice, manageable track plan. It's nice when you can have the Tony Koester empire in the basement but for we mortals, something like this will suffice nicely. Thanks for having the"branch line" model railroaders in mind.

  4. I'm currently in the throws of planning a new layout for an ex-bedroom. This plan and operating rationale gets me excited! Thanks for this manageable sized plan. Now if I could just save pics and articles on my computer from my digital subscription on Zinio I'd have some great shots!
