  1. I started the hobby when I was 6 years old with a "Sears Allstate o27 gauge figure 8 over and under. Started in HO a year later, been hooked every since. Still have a few of the ole pieces of rollin stock, and a few ole bldgs. The hobby has changed alot, engines with realistic lights, not to mention sound. DC, DCC, or whatever you have, it is a great and healthy hobby to be in. Just have fun and use your imagination, only limitations are space requirements. It can be however fun with a 5'x9' Ho layout, or a 10'x16', whatever you build just have fun.

  2. Enjoyed the round up of products but I really loved the Paoli local cars (Pennsylvania RR commuter cars from Con Cor). They brought back memories of my early days at the Paoli and Wayne train stations on the Main Line at the end of the steam era.

  3. Sigh – all these new EMD Kato and Athearn engines and you think they could do an ATSF fantasy unit like they did with their P-59's? And – yes – I've written Athearn three times begging for the paint job.
