I received my first of two MTH Challengers a few days ago. I’m amazed at the features and quality of this locomotive! It far surpasses my other Challenger (Genesis).
The unit runs perfectly and the sound is outstanding. I especially like the two engines going in and out of synch with one another, and the Doppler Effect whistle.
As a result of all the features MTH packs into this model, I ordered the new Digitrax 402 series throttle with 28 functions to take full advantage. I had previously purchased an MTH Mikado, and was so pleased with that I ordered their Challenger. I highly recommend this locomotive.
