The Proto 2000 GP-18 is a great model to have. It features eight-wheel electrical pick-up, separately applied grab irons, lift rings, m.u. hoses and many more details. The engine has a fairly powerful Proto 2000 motor with a lot of weight for improved performance.

The model is priced at about $60. The engine can pull about 18-20 cars on its own, and its capable of doing a lot of work. Although this model has a tendency to crack its gears, it’s fairly simple to fix.

Although this model is no longer produced, many can still be found at a decent price. This engine has certainly been a great benefit to my Appalachian Ry. roster.
