Comments: Factory assembled and painted HO scale models of a modern-era sand tower and two Snyder Equipment Co. fuel cranes are available from American Limited Models. The three models come conveniently packaged in a single box.
The sand tower and fuel crane models are made of plastic and match prototype photos taken at modern-era diesel terminals. The sand tower measures 44 scale feet high and each of the fuel cranes measures 19 scale feet high. Both models use the same tooling as previously offered kits.
The quality of the assembly and paint is excellent. There are no visible seams and paint coverage is smooth.
The models feature many scale-profile parts. Despite their thin profile, these parts are solidly glued in place.
The sand tower has nozzles that move up and down on cables attached to counterweights, accurately modeling the prototype. Both fuel cranes also have positionable nozzles.
These models make it easy to add diesel service operations to a modern-era HO layout.
