Description: Laser-cut wood structure kit
Comments: Based on a North-western Line Elevator from the 1913 Grain Dealers Journal, this Laserkit model depicts a design commonly seen along the tracks across the country. The kit includes laser-cut wood and paper parts for the grain elevator, dump house, and office. All that’s required for assembly is cyanoacrylate adhesive (CA), wood glue, a hobby knife, and a couple of squares. The finished model has a 10″ x 17″ footprint. Building the structures is straight-forward thanks to American Model Builder’s well-illustrated instructions. The accurately cut parts go together with tabs and slots and minimal sanding. I braced the interior of the long walls to avoid warping.

I painted the main structure before applying the adhesive-backed trim, doors, and windows. All are scale thicknesses, and the multi-part windows and doors look fantastic. A bit of medium to thick CA is good for attaching the agricultural signs to various points on the building. The signs really bring the elevator to life. The kit was fun to build and yielded a great-looking model.
