The plastic model has many separately applied parts, including rooftop vents and antenna and many underbody details. The model’s major dimensions match drawings in The Official Pullman-Standard Library Vol. 2: New York Central (Railway Production Classics). The molded interior also
matches diagrams in that book.
The car’s metal RP-25 contour metal wheels are in gauge, and its die-cast metal Proto-Max operating knuckle couplers are at the correct height. The car weighs 7 ounces, which follows National Model Railroad Association RP-20.1.
The minimum radius of the car is listed as 24″, but two stirrup steps interfere with the rear trucks. This caused the car to derail on a 30″ curve, so we removed the steps.
