  1. ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS ARE A SOURCE OF INTREST TO THE VIEWERS BECAUSE YOU PRESENT SUCH USEABLE CONTENT THAT CAN BE MODELED BY THE FELLOW MODEL RAILROADES into there own layouts.

  2. I do not like the sound. I remember seeing New Haven H-660 locomotives operating between Boston and Braintree in the late 40's and mid-50's. The engine had a really deep rumbling sound; like a big box of castings being shaken up by a giant. The horn was more throaty. This sound in general has way too much treble encoded on it.

  3. Union Pacific's only HH660 was one that came with the purchase of the Mount Hood Railroad and never received full UP paint. If you want one, your best bet is paint and decals on an undecorated model.

  4. I'm just crawling into the DCC/Sound world; I wish the manufacturers would program the locos so both lights on an engine could remain on regardless of direction. Or do I need to press another button?

  5. I have 2, one that I bought with sound and another that I installed QSI sound myself and they both run and sound excellent.

  6. Good article, but I'm disappointed that the Atlas website isn't current. Specifically, I attempted to order the Wabash version of the HH-660 switcher and it is not listed or even mentioned on their site. Same thing at the Walthers site. I can't even find the part number for this item. Unimpressive and frustrating…

  7. I am sorry that the videa did not have better sound; I turned the sound all the way up–no joy. Agree that the horn sounds puny. On the other hand, I have liked that engine since I first saw it in the sixties. I am glad Atlas made one.

  8. Hi William,
Yes the volume of all the sound effects, including the horn, are adjustable.
    Thanks for watching,

  9. The horn sound is puny, sounds toy-like and not much louder than the diesel engine. Is it adjustable? Thanks.

  10. i LOVED THE VIDEO. ATLAS MAKES A VERY FINE PRODUCT AND you let your readers see it in action Well Done.

  11. I would like to see a switcher in the Union Pacific scheme so I could add it to my layout. This switcher is a smooth operating switcher and has great sound effects. Got to get one as soon as I see a Union Pacific.

  12. The sound was fabulous. Could almost smell the Alco exhaust. I bought the New Haven version from NHRHTA.org

  13. Video is great I am currently in the process of packing as I am moving house in the next few weeks Priority is being given to me actually packing the trains etc. as I would not trust the removalists to this task anything wrong it is down to me. I will have to look at searching out the switcher once I get reeastablished. I thoroughly enjoy the Magazine and look forward to receiving it each month my postal address remains unaltered.

  14. It's a great runner, very smooth. I bought the NYC version and it became my favorite switcher instantly.
