  1. since they made this nice loco in HO W/ SOUND , and are no longer production , it would be great if mfg. in N SCALE W/ SOUND . thanks great video

  2. Good video, but as someone said its a bit short. You could add just a tad more time if there was no talking head, just a voiceover…

  3. Nice locomotive and nice article. Unfortunately, you can't buy one as they are sold out! Quite sad that wonderful locos are produced in small quantity.

  4. It seems that horn sounds are way too low on these decoders. Hopefully, this is adjustable so it can be louder than the bell. The bell has a very good tone, but it is louder than the horn, as it is on most video reviews I have seen.

  5. I noticed that the loco engine sound didn't rev up like a prototype would when pulling away with several loaded cars. Is there a way that effect could be programmed in DCC?

  6. It sounds like an old Massey-Ferguson farm tractor I used to drive on the farm but this is actually a pretty neat model of the VO1000.

  7. short but sweet video, keep up the good work.would like to see more in N scale. there are more and more good products comming on line.

  8. I have always liked the look of the VO1000 switchers. And even though I am in a larger scale I still have a subscription to MR. Because, you can never learn enough. The sounds and operation of the VO1000 are superb. Keep up the the great work. We folks in the overall hobby appreciate the information you submit in your magazine. (35 years in the hobby. THANKS!)

  9. I enjoyed the presentation, first class as usual. But I would like to know why I have not received my February magazine as yet, looking forward to seeing it.
    Alan Switzer.

  10. As usual, SoundTraxx sounds great. Have several and use with Digitrax and Power Pax Booster. That Baldwin would sure look and sound great om my system.

  11. Your review dos not say which of the decoders by Tstnami they have in this loco. They make two for Baldwin. I purchased the heat shink model with the right sound for VO 1000, and the fit is near imposible. It sounds like your sample came with the sound installed. I would really like to see inside to see how the factory put it together.

  12. I enjoyed the video also, great to hear and see what this loco can do. I also love the pre-war Lehigh Valley paint scheme, it is one of the most artistic beauties I have known. May have to get one even though I don't model the LV!

  13. Nice model. The exhaust stack is way too far toward the rear. As presented, the model would have the exhaust stack coming out of the main generator. However, the sound is great.

  14. Hi Cody and David,
Just a suggestion, if you cut that water tower in half vertically and placed it against the backdrop, you wouldn't have that distracting shadow that shows up in the videos and pictures.

  15. Great sound. Smooth operating. DCC & sound forever. I wonder what will be available in say 10 years. Do you have a crystal ball?

  16. A Baldwin engine would spice up most layouts, too bad the sound effects are so poor on most videos. Using the latest sound card and still cannot hear them but Dana's voice comes through loud and clear. Just thought I'd mention that.

  17. Love that Baldwin sound, horn not so much.

As an aside, the unit sure would have photgraphed better with some 1940-60's freight cars. Burlington Norhern, Wisconsin Southern? Somebody's freelanced layouts?
