Model Railroader 2025 Calendar
Be inspired all year long with Model Railroader’s all-new 2025 calendar!
I've been considering buying this set and this review has caused me to call "All Aboard." I'm looking forward to running it on my layout. Thanks for the review Model Railroader.
The details were excellent. Loved the description of the cars as they pasted.
That GG1 sure does have great pulling power! Thanks for the great display. I especially liked the description of the each car as it passed by. Keep up the good work, Dana!
At N scale the general appearance of the model was impressive. The constant low speed performance was equally so. The lighting in the video not at all impressive. Engine and car details were lacking due to camera position and lighting. Let's redo it so we can have a clearer look at details. Some times theatrical lighting fails to reveal the things we most want to see.
Best regards,
DSE
Great N train set. I recently bought one of the GG1s and it runs like a charm. Can't wait to get it running with a full load on my layout which is now under construction.
I enjoyed watching this video. The GG1 seems to have some great pulling power. And the idea of describing each car is a good idea/
add on also.
I have the expanded set and the base set, GG1s, E8s, and NW2 switchers from Kato. They all are fantastic models, look and track great. My Harrisburg train shed is the perfect spot to change power.
Looks great !! Sure wish Kato did some european trainsets like this (e.g. City Night Line Amsterdam-Vienna) with a MRCE class 189.
I liked the how long the train was it looked good.
I am very impressed by the superb attention to detail that KATO achieve every time a new product appears. Having started a collection of various locomotives and rolling stock for an american n gauge layout, it seems sensible to me that this famous train should be on my shopping list next time I visit the U.S.
Great model, great presentation.
Great video and 'atta boy' for inserting the names of the passenger cars as they passed by. Additionaly, I've recently started modeling the Waterbury area in O scale, but I doubt I'll ever get the station and clock tower to look as realistic as David Popp did. Nice job.
NICE ! I gotta say tho – would have loved to seen a LONGER video, since its my fave' N Layout of David Popp!
WOW! Simply beautiful…
Hey! It doesn't have a Centenary System!
just yanking ya'lls chains..
I must say its beautiful!
still havent seen the real GG1 in person, but the model will do!
Very Nice!
Nice video. It's great to see y'all doing more video. I know I'm nitpicking here, but as a videographer and video editor I wouldn't have chosen the "slide" transition on a moving train.
I agree with much of the commentary above. I've seen this GG-1 and train on a local NTrak layout and could hardly bear to leave the display. I've loved the big Gs since I was a toddler traveling from NY to Broad Street, Philadelphia, where one could stand in worshipful awe in front of the very deity herself. The car descriptions on the video were fine, but low lighting on a Brunswick green loco and Tuscan red cars did not serve the viewers' needs.
great video;) but the pantographs should be raised.looks much better then..;) i have the gg1 from kato and it runs perfect, but since i don`t have the space i model prr in z scale.gg1 from marklin is also an excellent engine. so for now the kato gg1 is only on display..unfortunately.
Great, awesome, I want the whole set, we have a problem in the UK the importer does not seem to carry much stock everything is always on back order. Thanks ModelRailroader for a great magazine and your uptodate web site.
Please tell us how to install theDigitrax decoder in loco Give us details Maybe some pictures. Make it SIMPLE Thanks
Another great looking model from Kato. They do produce some fine examples in N scale. I have always been impressed whenever I have purchased any of their stock.
How about seeing more of David's N scale Naugatuck layout?
Ok, great products as usual from Kato. My question is to who shot the video? How about some foreground light so we can see the product. Normal video quality from Kalmbach is great but this one really was bad. I couldn't see the product they were trying to highlight. I always like seeing the layout though. Wish I could rate the video instead of the product.
One of our club members has the same new Kato Broadway Limited being pulled by the Kato GG1 and it looks so good running on our layout. They just look that much better running in real life though than on a video. KUTGW.
I LIKED THE DICRIPTION AS THE CARS WENT PAST. tHE OCO LOOKED VERY GOOD
