I agree with Donald. Looks like you went a little too deep on the 16 gauge wire. I’m surprised you didn’t demonstrate the adjusting wheel. I never saw this tool before, but it looks like that wheel would restrict the closure to the proper gauge. Yes?
The danger with those universal strippers is nicking the wire or cutting some of the strands. It appears in the video cutting the 16 ga wire that you did cut some of the strands. A nick in a wire is a weak spot and missing strands can reduce the amp capacity of the wire. A good stripper has properly sized holes and stops to only cut the insulation. I have two, one for 10 to 20 ga. and the other for finer wire to 30 ga.
