Kingston Subdivision in HO scale: Industry leader Jason Shron has successfully propelled Rapido Trains, Inc., into the model manufacturing spotlight. In this exclusive interview, you’ll get to see how his drive, dedication, and passion for the hobby is manifested in his own HO scale (1:87.1) Canadian-themed model railroad. Tour with Jason, as he walks the mainline of his Kingston Subdivision, a 12 x 45-foot layout featuring VIA Rail Canada, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, and GO Transit equipment, much of which is manufactured by Rapido Trains.

Highlights of the multi-deck, around-the-walls model railroad set in Toronto, Ontario, during the early winter months of 1980, include scratchbuilt station structures and bridges, barren winter scenery, intricate track and signal works, and plenty of ultra-realistic details that help frame the layout as a clearly Canadian showcase in the making!

Although the layout is still in the making, that doesn’t stop Jason from operating a passenger train parade along the sweeping curves and the established 2-percent maximum grade! Take time to enjoy the passenger, commuter, and freight trains fleets routing over the Kingston Sub under NCE Digital Command Control.

When you’re finished watching this interview, construction insight, and layout action, be sure to explore video reviews of various Rapido Trains, Inc. products featured in the Trains.com streaming video collection.
