  1. I and other members of the Stoney Creek Model RR Club have had the pleasure of operating on the Deepwater District several times. A highlight was meeting Allen and having
an opportunity to discuss model railroading. Gerry is a great host and his crew is so helpful. This is must see railroad. Thanks Gerry for giving an inside look at the Deepwater and thanks for all your hospitality during our visits.

  2. What an impressive layout, and , the way you dealt with obstructions is really ingenious ! Well done !!! Thank you for sharing !

  3. How does an individual keep the track clean on a layout the size of the Virginian Ry. & Deepwater District…especially the seldom used spurs and yard trackage? A great model railroad Gerry!

  4. You had me at V&O, got all my attention now, unbelievable what has been done since 2002.. just beautiful..

  5. We had the pleasure of visiting the Deepwater District as part of the C&O HS 50th convention. Gerry and his crew are great hosts. The RR is even more stunning in person as compared to the video.

  6. Awesome use of the false wall and window. Brilliant! And hiding the spray booth vent like you did is also incredibly inventive. Kudos on a superb layout. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Very Impressive! I can tell this layout wasn’t started in 2015! It is a massive undertaking and very well done, Thank you Mr. Albers for sharing!

  8. Waht a fine layout! Lots of interesting ideas. Excellent scenery, good trains, interesting plan and it follows a theme. What else could one ask for (except maybe to see it in person someday). Thanks for presenting this. I got several inspirations for my own projects.

  9. This is a very nice layout to visit and I have a chance to operate on it a few times a year. Allen dispatches the V&O each session. They did not show the V&O dispatch panel which is on one of the walls in the workshop area.

  10. Wow Gerry, that is so special. Living in WV I’ve been to many of those small communities and have seen many loaded coal trains travel through those communities. You have captured the essence and beauty of that region and have preserved the railroading heritage of the Virginian. Thank you.

  11. Fantastic layout tour. I loved the narration and the explanation behind various components of the layout. You have given me a few ideas to incorporate in my layout planning!
