  1. Living on the other end of the world South Africa modelling Union Pacific a Santa few I really enjoyed the.complete effect of a coal moving railroad
    Very very good.

  2. Very impressive! The concrete weathering is outstanding. The most life-like layout I've seen. The banjo- and fiddlemusic was very apropriate. Thank you for a very inspiring video.

  3. Cliff Williams from Canada
Love the layout, but not to sure on the music for this video. The story was great in Model Railroad, keep up the great work.

  4. Great layout video! Not sure if anyone else noticed or if was just my video player, but…about 1:20 into the video there are 3 Tennessee Midland hoppers, the first one has the 1st E in Tennessee correctly oriented. but the next two cars have the second E backwards while all the rest of the E's are correct.
Can't help but winder if this was done deliberately. ;>)

  5. Nice video of some individual scenes, but after reading in the article about how the LAYOUT was constructed, I was hoping to see footage of the LAYOUT. Show us the deep shots of the aisles and the fascia, and how they tie into the room. Show us the expansiveness of this model railroad as a system… not only individual scenes. This is a layout tour video, so please, also, show us the layout!

  6. Exceptional video. As others have indicated, the music really helps complete the feeling of this regional railroad without sounding corny. In fact, to me, the music added a real sense of drama that helped hold my attention. Great job.

  7. I, too agree with the others about the music; perhaps if we were watching "Deliverance" it would be OK, but it's a bit boring and monotonous. Some narration would have been good. GREAT- looking layout , though – nice job!

  8. That's a lot of horsepower for so short a train, even in the hills of Tennessee! Must be deadheading the Geep back to the shops. I really like the falling rock retaining fence scene — very well done. Great layout and track plan. Thanks for showing us both.

  9. Excellent weathering and hues in the concrete work – i.e. the tunnel portal and the retaining wall along the river. Also the rock slide fence is a real nice touch of realism. And any layout that runs a Western Maryland boxcar has got to be great. 😉
I, too, would appreciate the absence of music. Let's hear the trains, and Gregory Tobin's suggestion of narration is right on. Let's hear the layout builders tell us what we're watching – that would be a plus.

  10. At first I couldn't get this video to play but I clicked on "tools" and added the site "trains.com" to my compatibility view list; hope this helps.

  11. Very Nice! You have really captured the Appalachian mood with the music and the excellent modeling work. I was impressed with the level of detail, especially the weathering on the concrete retaining walls and the tunnel. Nice job on the safety fencing for rock protection along the mainline. Very well done.

  12. Great video of a special model RR like the music but would have also enjoyed the sounds and a commentary, seeing these videos is entertaining, educational and inspirational….. Bob, Hobart Australia

  13. Great layout and professional video coverage Dana. Really like the color scheme on the motive power and cabooses, classy.

  14. Super nice railroad. I agree that the music certainly fit the location of the railroad!! Great looking paint schemes and beautiful scenery & backdrops. Kudos to Dave Davenport!!
