Impressive, indeed. I would, however, enjoy seeing the hoppers with “real” coal loads rather than plastic inserts. =O( Even inserts spinkled with Woodland Scenics coal would help to improve the look of the loads.
Oops no marker on the last car! Was he doubling a hill, second unit bo?
You can always count on attention to detail when you see locos and rolling stock Pete has worked on. One thing I’ve noticed in the articles is the fact he finishes projects so they may be handled (run) without small parts falling off. There is a time and place for museum quality but not on an actual running layout.
Thanks for all you detailing articles and for sharing this video on MR.
I’m sure this has been considered, but I thought I would throw it out there. It would be awesome if Pelle created some videos along the lines of Jerry, e.g., a session on weathering freight cars, creating roads, etc. I love all of his books and how to articles, but sometimes getting a one on one lesson with the master is helpful and answers many questions when things are left to the imagination. Thanks.
good job Pelle
Superb job Pelle, I admire your scenery
Another fantastic job Pelle, thank you for sharing.
all I can say is wow! his level of details is off the scale! I'm curious just how many hours went into the building of the area we just saw. Amazing
Inspiring and humbling… wow! His book on the first iteration of the layout is also awesome.
Outstanding. I would like to know if he buys his pine trees or makes them. They look realistic.
My wife and I feel like we have hiked in these mountains.
WOW!!! i love the keen attention to detail.
IMPRESSIVE!!
I have seen his layout in the magazine, but watching it really shows how great it is.
Pelle is a true artist. I live in the Antelope Valley, venture to the Tehachapis often through Mojave. His work is a true indication of the area and railroad operations.
most excelant work.
Fantastic! As a longtime admirer of his work I'm continually amazed at his level of detail but now I'm impressed even more with his operation.
Pelle is a real artist. I'd love to have the eye for detail and the technique he has in both the areas of scenery building and weathering.
First time viewer, did Pamela from California ever get an answer? I make it 30!
Just simply awesome. Great plan and detail. Thanks for sharing
A master at his work, this modeler almost makes it unnecessary to gather up your camcorder and other gear and hit the road. But of course, without reference to the real thing, one cannot hope to reach the attainable heights of a model railroader like Mr. Soeborg. (Now, can you imagine, as also mentioned above, that this layout no longer exists! There oughta be a law.)
Very nice, good job.
Great movie. Would of liked to know how many cars the 2 engines were pulling. Thanks for putting it on the web for us to see.
I love the Union Pacific Railroad! I have a bethgon train just like it. Great senery!!!
This is a video clip from the DVD featuring Pelle's "old" layout. On the DVD you can see his entire layout, well worth a look at, particularly the Daneville section of the film (my favourite part on his layout!)
I will be purchasing the DVD featuring his new layout when he releases it for sale 🙂 ( I hope..hint, hint Pelle ! )
