Watch modeling in progress with our Workshop Webcam.
This camera is placed inside the Model Railroader workshop, where you can see Model Railroader and Classic Toy Trains editors building models, testing equipment, painting and more!
This camera only activates when someone is inside the room. At other times, we’ll offer pre-recorded video from the cam and from other selections. We do not provide audio with this feed.
Suggestion: Paint the clip that holds the two backdrops together on the State Line blue to match the background color. It would be less noticeable
Wow – is everyone on vacation? All of the work areas are clean except for Cody’s who is hard at work 🙂
David,
What is that tool beside the drill press that has the crank on top?
How are you using it on your model?

I watched episode 1 of the MR&T State Line Route in N scale yesterday. It’s nice to have context as to what you are building. Looking forward to future episodes!
Sorry, the backdrop is problematic for that. I’ll try to be more aware of it in the future. Thanks for checking in anyway!
It would be more interesting and helpful if you moved the layout slightly so we can see what’s happening as you work on the other side of the backdrop.
Oh, and the web cam now has a feature that shows you what we were doing when no one is in the shop working. It’s great, especially if you missed something!
I do a lot of visualizing as I work, and quite often the plan changes considerably from the starting point. I’ve been spending my lunchtime down in the shop all week doing just that. As you can see, after 5 days, I’ve got one half ready for track. We’ll use the half now on the sawhorses for video work, starting on Monday! Enjoy the show.
Yes, finally a new project railroad, thanks David
Starting new N scale project railroad today. Watch for changes as it progresses all summer. Enjoy!
I don’t know if it was a “replay” or live tonight about 7:30 your time but, it was interesting to see how you kept walking around and around the layout visualizing it. Can’t wait to see it come together
the webcam is outta control! I havent seen this much detail to sweeping since I left the Army! Enjoy your long weekend MR staff!
Website is a nightmare

Great new feature – really enjoying the new
Trains.com site. You guys will have to be on your best
behavior with that camera running all the time lol.
Keep up the great work.
