does it come in different roads? if so I missed that part.
Love this little guy.
Pluses: + Alco turbo sound. Sounds great. +The price for a good sounding loco.
Minus's: – Had to adjust the CV5 top-end speed setting to give me a bit more movement/speed. – Unit is pretty light in weight, and thus can't pull a large string of cars.
My S-2 continues with high RPM's after I stop the unit. Can't find out how to adjust this CV. In the review Dana said he changed ba CV to manual notching!!?? How do we do this?

well produced video of the Bachmann alco s2 yard diesel .slow speed and special sound very well done .for some of us old enough to remember the sound of the diesel it was very close to the real thing . keep it up
I'm sure I'm not the only one who is asking why Bachmann isn't including the grab irons on their locomotives- they just don't quite look right. They ARE making positive strides in running quality, however, and the loco sound is good, so a couple of aftermarket purchases for grab irons is not too bad of a compromise. Wouldn't be the first time (see-Athearn blue-box GP38-2s and SD40-2s).

The sound is exceptional. I like it. And, a very nice model.
Bought back pleasent nostalgic memories of the Los Angeles Junction and Hobart Yards 'flat switching'. Bachmann should be commended!
This wasn't a review, Dana said almost nothing during the video. What are the good/bad points of this loco? What other road names are available? What is a "sound value decoder"? If this is a "subscriber content only" video, why do I need to read the magazine for the review?
Bachman does it again. Also MRCprodgidy. But I would hate to be the switchman . Bet he either packs his pants with pillows or knows how to servive the falls from the jerking/fast stops/starts. I thougth you people at MRC were expert railroaders but when I see how you handle your trains I wonder.
Switch Locos are popular on my layout. Gotta have a Bachmann Alco S-2 !
I have found that Bachman locomotives are a bargain and work well. I am old and my vision is not perfect! Works for me!
Nice! I like the way it revs up before moving. A lot of units don't unless you really add momentum to acceleration. that's one of the things I look for when operating. Kudos on a fine unit, now what other roadnames will be available? John
I haven't had good experiences with Bachmann in the past, but they could very well have something here.
Want sound like that in N scale as well.
Suggestion: reduce the size of the information box throughout this and other MR videos. It's too large and obscures the image on close-up shots. A simple caption across the bottom of the screen would suffice.
Nice looking and sounding engine. Nice that it manual notches, also.
I also agree with Gene Bradley that your HVAC system should be turned off when recording your videos. The drone is distracting.
Nice model for a Bachmann. Lots of detail. Almost as good as my atlas S2s.

I like it, although it appears to be lacking some wire grab on detail and could use sunshades over the cab windows. If it's ever offered in SP tigerstripes, I'll buy one.
Real Alco sounds! Best I have heard/seen in HO.
