Chicago & North Western Historical Society archives bound for IRM
The archives of the Chicago & North Western Historical Society are bound for the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Ill. The archives will be located at a new building, to be formally known as the C&NWHS Archives Research Center, to be located on the museum’s main street, a collection of new and historic buildings forming a replica 1950s street scene. “The goals between both organizations are the same, the preservation of railroad history,” historical society president Tim Coyle said in a press release. “Our locating at IRM is a natural fit. There are synergies provided by both groups that will allow each to enhance the railroad experience and increase educational and preservation activities.” No date has been set for completion of the archives building.
