MIAMI — South Florida’s two local rail operators will resume service on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Brightline/Virgin Trains USA will resume service with $10 fares through Sunday, Sept. 8. Visit the Brightline website for schedules and more information.

Commuter railroad Tri-Rail will also resume service Wednesday after reporting it expects to have its corridor completely restored and tested by Tuesday evening. Steven L. Abrams, the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority executive director, said Tri-Rail would be running some test trains on Tuesday evening in anticipation of running a full schedule beginning at 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Both operators had halted service in anticipation of the arrival of Hurricane Dorian, but the storm was tracking to the northwest of the Miami area and had minimal impact.

Amtrak service to South Florida remains suspended, as does operation of Orlando’s commuter rail operator, SunRail.
