BARONS, Alberta — An evacuation order has been lifted after a Monday derailment of a Canadian Pacific train led to an octane leak.

The Calgary Herarld reports that one locomotive and 21 cars of the CP derailed about 7:40 a.m. Monday near Barons, a village of 350 residents approximately 28 miles (45 kilometers) north of Lethbridge, Alta. The evacuation order, which came shortly after the derailment, was lifted about 4 p.m. local time as fire crews working in coordination with CP contained the leak.

Octane, a component in gasoline, is highly flammable.

Canada’s Transportation Safety Board said it would be sending a team of investigators to the site to determine the cause of the derailment.
