FRISCO, Texas — The Museum of the American Railroad will hold a “watch party” for the sesquicentennial of the completion of the first transcontinental railroad this Friday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event at the Frisco Discovery Center will feature guest speakers, live streaming of celebrations from Promontory Summit, Utah, tours of the “TrainTopia” model train exhibit, and special photo opportunities with the museum’s Union Pacific Big Boy, No. 4018, one of just eight of the 4-8-8-4s to be saved and sister locomotive to the one Union Pacific has restored as part of the railroad’s 150th-anniversary celebration.
