C&O EMD GP7 No. 5704 and its new as-delivered cosmetic restoration on the Lebanon Mason & Monroe Railroad in Lebanon, Ohio.
Lebanon Mason & Monroe Railroad
LEBANON, Ohio – A Chesapeake & Ohio EMD GP7 has been restored to its as-delivered blue-and-gold paint scheme. C&O GP7 No. 5704 is the latest restoration project to ply the rails of Ohio’s Lebanon Mason & Monroe Railroad near Cincinnati.

The locomotive was retired and sold for scrap in the mid-1980s before the Indiana & Ohio Railway purchased the locomotive. It remained in Ohio until joining the Cincinnati Scenic Railway’s roster. The locomotive was originally built in May 1950 for the C&O.

The locomotive will operate in tourist train service on the Lebanon & Mason Monroe and will occasionally lead other excursion trains elsewhere in the state.
