ARCADE, N.Y. — New York’s Arcade & Attica ran its final excursion of two for the New York Maple festival to North Java on March 30.

The special trips marked the return of passenger trains to this part of the railroad for the first time in 30 years, more than doubling the mileage of its regular excursion on the line. The train is seen waiting for patrons inside the Riesdorf Mill at North Java, N.J., for the return trip to Arcade.

No other trips are scheduled for this rare mileage until a convention in August but the railroad is willing to accept charters to this point on the line for now.
