The locomotive will run from Portland to Wishram, Wash., about 108 miles, along the Columbia River, where it will follow the Deschutes River Canyon though Maupin and Madras before reaching Bend, where it will overnight on June 24. The next day, the train will return to Portland.
Tickets are $595 for coach, $895 for club seating, and $1450 for dome seating. The fare includes breakfast and lunch both days and hotel accommodations in Bend, as well as a shuttle bus there. A $100 premium will be charged for single occupancy passengers. Among the cars in the train will be the privately-owned Overland Trail, Colonial Crafts, Silver Splendor, Plaza Santa Fe, Silver Lariat, and Silver Solarium, along with a former Milwaukee Road Super Dome and Scenic View full dome. Coaches will be Amfleet cars.

My 240-mile trip behind Daylight 4449 from Houston to Dallas was $70.00 in vintage ex-Southern Pacific cars matching the locomotive’s paint scheme. This was in May 1984 when Daylight 4449 made a national tour to New Orleans for the World’s Fair.
