ERIE, Pa. — First TE33A for Moldova: Wabtec began testing the first of 12 TE33A locomotives for Moldova at it’s former GE Transportation shops near Erie. The locomotives will be operated by Calea Ferată in Moldova — a state railroad that up until now has relied on rebuilt Soviet-era motive power to operate its diverse network of standard and narrow gauge lines. All are expected to be delivered by 2020.

Moldova is a nearly land-locked country sandwiched between Ukraine and Romania in eastern Europe.

  1. “it’s” is the conjunctive “it is” not the possessive “its.” Also, in NYC one can search out a couple of restaurants serving Moldovan cuisine, which is rustic fare and inexpensive. And the country is landlocked, not nearly so.
