DEL MAR, Calif. — Work to stabilize eroding coastal bluffs in Del Mar will disrupt Amtrak Surfliner and Coaster commuter rail schedules this weekend, Dec. 14-15.

Coaster trains will operate from Oceanside to Solana Beach, with a bus bridge between Solana Beach and downtown san Diego. Northbound passengers who would normally board south of Solana Beach will be bussed all the way to Oceanside; those between Solana Beach and Oceanside will be served by the regular schedule. Full information is available on the Coaster website.

Amtrak will cancel some trains, shorten some service to San Luis Obispo to begin and end at Los Angeles with bus connections to San Diego, and originate or terminate other trains at Oceanside, with bus service to Solana Beach and downtown San Diego. See the Pacific Surfliner website for full details.

The repairs are to address erosion damage that occurred during a Nov. 29 storm.

Other track closures are planned for Jan. 11-12, Feb. 1-2, Feb. 22-23, and March 7-8.
