ST. LOUIS — Amtrak’s Missouri River Runner has resumed full service between St. Louis and Kansas City, just two days after a partial resumption of service.

Both daily round trips between the two cities were restored on Saturday, more than three weeks after the rail service was suspended because of additional freight traffic on the Union Pacific route. UP had rerouted freight traffic onto the line because of flooding elsewhere in the Midwest.

Chartered bus service was used to cover both round trips until Thursday, when the morning departures from each city resumed, while the afternoon trains continued to be replaced by buses.

  1. We love these Saint Louis to KC passenger trains and they also serve various important intermediate stops!
