Canadian Pacific AC44CWM No. 8200 begins testing at the GE Transportation test track near Erie, Pa.

LAWRENCE PARK, Pa. — Canadian Pacific AC4400CW No. 8200 is the first of the latest group of 30 AC4400CWs to enter testing after being rebuilt at GE Transportation’s shops near Erie, Pa.
The locomotive began evaluation on the locomotive builder’s test track in Lawrence Park, Pa., on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
The locomotive, now known as an AC44CWM, is nearly identical to other rebuilt Canadian Pacific locomotives but features software and other minor upgrades learned from rebuilding the 8000 and 8100 series units.
Externally, the only visible original body work can be seen on handrails and the frame.
Observers expect GE to complete this latest rebuilding order in the coming months.
