ROMULUS, N.Y. — An employee of a railcar repair firm was killed on the job Thursday when struck by a train.

The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle reports that 46-year-old Thomas J. Horn of Romulus was struck and pronounced dead at the scene at 10:17 a.m. Thursday, according to a Seneca County Sheriff’s Office report.

Horn was an employee of Andersons Rail Group, which operates a number of railcar repair facilities, including one at the former Seneca Army Depot in Romulus.

The sheriff’s department release says Horn “possibly fell and was stuck by the train” while attempting to move railcars at the facility with another employee. Sheriff’s deputies are working with the Federal Railroad Administration and National Transportation Safety Board to investigate the incident.
