NEWARK, N.J. — NJ Transit will resume service at the West Side Avenue Station on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail along the West Side Avenue Branch on Saturday, May 23, following the completion of required utility work by the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority. This will complete the reopening of the entire West Side Avenue Branch. Last month, HBLR service was restored to Martin Luther King Drive and Garfield Avenue stations.

“We are pleased regular service will return along the entire West Side Avenue Branch for our light rail customers,” said NJ Transit President and CEO Kevin Corbett. “Our customers’ patience and understanding are appreciated and cannot be overstated while the needed underground utility work was performed by the [authority].”

The last day of shuttle bus service for the West Side Avenue station will be Friday, May 22. Trains will continue operating on a single track with three trains per hour on the West Side Avenue Branch through Friday, May 29.

Departure times for West Side Avenue Station Northbound departures from Saturday, May 23 to Friday, May 29 are as follows:
:03 past the hour
:23 past the hour
:43 past the hour
After midnight, the 12:23 a.m. will now operate at 12:21 a.m.
