Work continues on replacement of a Norfolk Southern bridge in Missouri wiped out by flooding on Oct. 1.

BRUNSWICK, Mo. — Norfolk Southern officials are projecting a Nov. 6 restoration of Kansas City-Moberly, Mo., service over the Grand River bridge near Brunswick. The bridge was destroyed by heavy rains and flood debris Oct. 1. [See “Flood waters take out NS bridge in Missouri,” Trains News Wire, Oct. 3, 2019.]

Since the bridge was knocked out, NS has detoured traffic using temporary trackage rights over Kansas City Southern between Kansas City and Mexico, Mo.

  1. Pretty wild. Looks like they have a shore based concrete pumping truck pumping concrete to a pumping truck on a barge, that is then pumping the concrete into the caissons.
