Union Pacific says that since June 24 “Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana experienced flooding and downed trees and power lines resulting in network outages,” which included closing of the River Subdivision between Kansas City and Jefferson City, Mo., Terminal and mainline congestion have caused trains to be held in multiple locations.
An ongoing UP service disruption has been on the Sparta Subdivision from Ellis Grove to Coulterville, Ill. The railroad hopes to restore service later this week.
Meanwhile, Kansas City Southern reports service restoration on its Heavener Subdivision between Neosho and Noel, Mo., after a brief shutdown this week due to flooding.
