WASHINGTON — Robert Grasty has been named Amtrak’s executive vice president, chief human resources officer, effective June 26. He will succeed Qiana Spain, who will stay with the company through June 30.
Grasty, previously senior vice president of human resources, has more than 25 years of human resources experience in the transportation, health care, energy, and financial services industries. For the last three years, he has been a board member for the American Red Cross South Florida Chapter.
“Robert has built a track record of leading organizations through major change to achieve business results, and we are delighted to have him in this role,” Amtrak CEO Stephen Gardner said in a press release. “Amtrak is undergoing a period of major transformation, and Robert will lead our talent and recruitment goals by continuing to build an integrated HR team and a strong culture that supports our people and our business.”
Great , another non railroader to gum up the place.
I wonder how long he was working for Amtrak before getting the promotion. IMHO I am not impressed because he oversaw the catastrophic cuts to Amtrak employee rosters.
