FORT WORTH, Texas — BNSF Railway is reporting track washouts in several locations and other service disruptions because of severe weather and flash flooding throughout the Southern Plains portion of its network.

The Longview Subdivision in Texas and Cherokee Subdivision between Tulsa, Okla., and Springfield, Mo., are currently affected. Service is expected to be restored on the Longview Sub between Tenaha and Silsbee, Texas, this afternoon; the railroad does not yet have an estimate for the Cherokee Sub.

The railroad says some trains are being rerouted and others are experiencing delays and travel times, and that others are experiencing delays and extended travel times. Additional heavy rainfall is expected over the next 48 to 72 hours, with flash flood watches and warnings in effect over much of the region.
