CUSTER, Wash. — No injuries were reported and no spills resulted after a BNSF train transporting molten sulfur derailed late Tuesday night, the Bellingham Herald reports.
The derailment occurred about 10:45 p.m. near Custer, 14 miles north of Bellingham, Wash., on BNSF’s Bellingham Subdivision, and about 100 miles north of Seattle. Six cars derailed.
The cause is under investigation.
How long in time before the sullfur freezes? does it expand when freezing and will it cause breeching when it does?
Hmmmm. The “train” derailed. All of it, or “x” number of cars?
Good question, Mr. Dicenso. More importantly, were any tank cars breached, and did any molten sulfur spill out?
The article says 6 cars derailed, and no cars spilled cargo.
