BOCA RATON, Fla. — After holding ceremonies today (Tuesday, Dec. 20) to mark the opening of new stations in Boca Raton and Aventura, Fla., Brightline will begin passenger service to both cities on its Miami-West Palm Beach route on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
Ceremonies at Boca Raton were held at 9 a.m. featuring remarks by Brightline President Patrick Goddard and state and local officials, along with a tour of the facility, before a train proceeded to Aventura for noon ceremonies featuring Goddard, area officials, a station tour, and the first train trip from Aventura to Brightline’s MiamiCentral station.
Service between Aventura and Miami will take about 20 minutes, with discounted rides available through the Brightline website and app as part of the company’s agreement with Miami-Dade Transit. Monthly commuter passes are available at the Aventura station guest services desk, and will be available online and through the app beginning in January. Capacity will be reserved for commuter traffic between Aventura and Miami on peak morning and evening commuter periods until 48 hours before departure.
The Aventura station features 240 parking spaces and a bus drop-off area for Maimi-Dade Transit passengers. Brightline is designing a pedestrian bridge to connect to the Aventura mall; in the interim, a complimentary shuttle is offering service to and from the mall 14 hours a day.
The Boca Raton station features a 455-space parking garage to serve Brightline customers and visitors to the adjacent city library. It also offers two complimentary, on-demand EV carts to destinations in downtown Boca Raton. Travel time between Boca Raton and downtown Miami will be about 60 minutes.
New schedules featuring stops at both stations are available here.
