Caltrain logoSAN CARLOS, Calif. — Bay Area commuter operator Caltrain will begin three weeks of reduced weekday service on March 14 to accommodate electrification of the service’s route between San Francisco and San Jose.

Work at the Broadway, Burlingame, San Mateo, Hayward Park, and Hillsdale stations will require single-tracking, which in turn necessitates the schedule reductions. Three trains per hour will operate in each direction between 5:30 a.m.-9 a.m., and 3:30 p.m.-7 p.m., reducing the number of daily weekday trains from 104 to 88. This will include suspension of the “Baby Bullet” express schedules. All trains during those peak periods will skip some stops.

More information, including diagrams showing which trains will stop at which stations, is available in this press release. Temporary schedules are available here.

Regular weekday service is scheduled to resume on Monday, April 4.
