Colebrookedale Railroad trust receives grant for market project

Colebrookdale Railroad LogoBOYERTOWN, Pa — The Colebrookdale Railroad Preservation Trust, the non-profit group supporting Pennsylvania’s Colebrookdale Railroad heritage operation, has received a $2.25 million state grant for a new event space and market area at the railroad’s yard in downtown Boyerstown.

The grant was awarded under Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which supports acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. The grant will be matched by federal, county, and local funds.

Plans, according to the grant award, include a market building and café, stage and flagpole.plaza, restrooms and event support space, and ADA improvements. Construction is expected to start in 2024, the Gibertsville Post news site reports.
