CALGARY, Alberta — Canadian Pacific Kansas City has released the schedule and list of performers for the annual CPKC Holiday Train, which begins its tours through the U.S. and Canada on Nov. 20.
The railroad’s holiday train will also continue to include the Holiday Express, originated by Kansas City Southern, which will make a 13-stop tour of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
The Holiday Train raises donations for local food banks. Since 1999, it has raised more than $24.3 million and collected more than 5.3 million pounds of food for community food banks.
“We are pleased to again send this magical train on a four-week trip across our network spreading holiday joy as we collect food and raise money to fight food insecurity,” CPKC CEO Keith Creel said in a statement. “We look forward to seeing all the smiles and cheers from people young and old coming together in the spirit of giving.”
The Canadian schedule for the Holiday Train, available here, begins Nov. 22 in Beaconsfield, Quebec, and concludes Dec. 20 ion Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. It also includes stops in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
The U.S. schedule, available here, begins with a Nov. 22 visit to Brownsville, Maine, and concludes Dec. 17 in Kenmare, N.D. Along with visits to those states, the train will also visit New York, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
In all, there will be 167 live performances in seven provinces and 13 states.
A dozen musical artists will perform in various pairings along the route of the two Holiday trains. Canadian performances will include American Authors and KT Tunstall; the James Barker Band and Cierel; Tyler Shaw and Shawnee Kish; and Magic! and Shawnee Kish. In the U.S., performance pairings will include the James Barker Band and Cierel; American Authors and KT Tunstall; the Lone Bellow and Tiera Kennedy; and Seaforth and Alana Springsteen. The schedules available above list the artists scheduled to perform at each stop; more information on each artist is available at the Holiday Train page on the CPKC website.
Details of the Holiday Express schedule were not immediately available.
