CSX logoJACKSONVILLE, Fla. — CSX Corp. will make a $10 million contribution to Jacksonville’s Museum of Science & History, or MOSH, and will be recognized as the presenting sponsor of the museum as it relocates to a new Northbank site on the St. Johns River in the city’s downtown.

“We are immensely grateful to CSX for their transformational gift to the MOSH Genesis,” Jill Davis, chair of the Genesis capital campaign cabinet and vice chair of the MOSH board of trustees, said in a press release. “This generous contribution will have a lasting impact on our institution, enabling us to create a museum that offers engaging exhibits, dynamic educational programs, and memorable experiences for visitors of all ages.”

The Genesis campaign will allow the museum to relocate from its current Southbank location, its home since 1969, where it has outgrown its 33,000 feet of exhibit space, to a new building planned to include approximately 130,000 square feet across three floors.

“Investing in the transformation of our downtown through the MOSH Genesis vision aligns with our company’s commitment to our city’s cultural and educational vibrancy,” said CSX CEO Joe Hinrichs. “We are proud to lend our name to an institution that promises to inspire the next generation of leaders in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). These fields directly support our business operations while reinforcing Northeast Florida’s status as a logistics leader. Our support for the MOSH Genesis capital campaign is an extension of our commitment to this region and its future growth.”
