PENINSULA, Ohio — The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad will resume operations this Friday, May 3, after a two-month shutdown to address safety and operational procedures.
During the hiatus, the heritage railway says it enacted improvements in radio communications and operations management software; installed cameras in locomotives; and implemented new operating rules and procedures scaled to its level of operations.
“CVSR stands as a testament to excellence in scenic railroading, a leader of industry innovation and dedication,” Joe Mazur, the railroad’s CEO, said in a press release. “Our team’s relentless pursuit of safety and service excellence defines us. I am immensely proud of our staff and volunteers, whose commitment and hard work has paved the way for our return to the rails.”
More information on the railroad including schedules and ticket information are available at its website.
Not sure how much truth there is to this, but I heard that the CSV banned some volunteers from property after they blew the whistle on these issues that led to the shutdown.
