DURANGO — The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad has added Wednesday departures to its evening Highline Express train beginning this week, adding four more trips to the new 3½-hour steam excursion introduced on July 1.
The new offering, currently planned only for July, now will operate Mondays through Wednesdays, departing Durango at 4:30 p.m. and returning by 8:10 p.m. The shortest summer trip offered by the railroad includes traveling on the Highline and Horseshoe Curve above the Animas River, as well as a brief stop at Rockwood Station, along with beverages, snacks, light meal options and — newly added — an onboard musician.
Tickets for the remaining trips are available here; more information on the Durango & Silverton is available at its website.
